GRACE HUSTON:
In McKinley's version of Beauty and the Beast. Beauty has two older sisters. One of them is names Grace. Grace is described as to be one year older than Beauty. She is incredibly beautiful. She has buttery blonde hair and is admired by her other sisters. Grace is tall and slim and has a good heart.
Grace marries Robbie- a promising young captain who goes missing for several years. He is presumed dead. Grace never truly gets over Robbie and truly loves him. After Robbie is identified as missing, she becomes depressed. Her family recognise that her heart longs for Robbie and wishes him safe passage home to her.
At the end of the story, beauty comes home to inform Grace that Robbie is alive. She shows proof and Grace is ecstatic, as if she had been asleep for the past 5 or more years and has just woken up.

Hope is also Beauty's sister and she is described as having beautiful chestnut-brown hair that is thick and luscious. She has smoky green eyes and is tall and slim. Hope has a kind heart and always tried to be a positive role model for her sisters and family.
Hope is married to Gervaine Woodhouse (Ger), an ironworker in fathers shipyard and later a blacksmith in the town of Blue Hill.
